@strypey@mastodon.nzoss.nz >I have to spell it out for you? Ok. Only organising sites for actual fascists are being denied commercial DDoS protection. Only? Are you sure? What's stopping them from censoring a different kind of site? Like I said, it's not up to us how the 'pattern' continues. Luckily there are alternatives. For example, #Tor has built-in DDoS protection for onion sites. And some admins have made their own DIY DDoS protection thing.

@strypey@mastodon.nzoss.nz I guess there's a silver lining to this. If they start really abusing their power, a significant number of sites might stop relying on them and then they won't be a corpo-in-the-middle for almost the entire web anymore.

@light@noc.social > Only? Are you sure? I'm not aware of any non-fascists denied service by DDoS protection providers. Can you point to any examples? > What's stopping them from censoring a different kind of site? I addressed this already; https://mastodon.nzoss.nz/@strypey/116552314485111977 DDoS protection by any given service is a privilege, not a right. Also, you answered your own question; > Tor has built-in DDoS protection for onion sites. And some admins have made their own DIY DDoS protection
