I used to enjoy pointing out that Kurt Cobain’s death is closer in history to the Beatles’ first performance on Ed Sullivan as it is to today, but that’s only painful for GenX folks.
I do still like how the release of the Nintendo 64 is closer to the first moon landing than it is to today though.

@Seirdy@pleroma.envs.net @forestine@sunny.garden also I did briefly start looking at other benchmarks and then was like, hey how about the lifetime of the Berlin Wall? And then had to face the fact that 1961 and 1989 were only 28 years apart and that can’t be right
