It's not specific to the current government but rather has broad political support in the country. France is one of the strongest supporters of Chat Control. Both /e/ and iodéOS are based in France. Both operating systems are a massive privacy and security downgrade from an iPhone. Both fail to provide bare minimum standard privacy and security patches/protections.
