It runs a tad slower than a modern 8c/16t machine with more memory and nvme ssd, but it's not bad. I can run any distro on it. When I fire up older 2c 4g machines I'll stick to more lean distros and guis. Cachy with hyprland or niri works well. But as other's note, it's about style and choice

@ClancyParliament@mastodon.online @gangrif@social.undrground.org One small note: AMD supports linux by releasing its various drivers compiled for linux. This helps AMD devices be as performant running linux as running Microsoft. Distrowatch.com is a useful place for locating some of the many many flavours of Linux; and you can search for mixes which suit your goals. The graphics/windowmanager is not part of Linux, yet it is what everyone is deliberately not talking about here. 'Pretty' costs performance; try'em all and see!
