@vale@fedi.vale.rocks Still, I was surprised just `filter: url(#turbulence)` on the parent element would have that much impact.

@heydon@front-end.social Yeah, it is shocking how brutal it is. Such a shame as I love the style they can bring. I know of at least one site that ended up removing the effect because of the performance impact. :(
