@dirk@gts.0x7be.net for now the easiest would be to skip those, for the category bits you picked and example of, we have detailed instructions for those search synonyms, which as those go beyond just translating and into localisation: https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/src/branch/main/docs/TRANSLATIONS.md#categories-strings The unicode ones are for people being able to use emoji to search for POI

    @CoMaps@floss.social Those are more like developer instructions, not translator instructions 😃 I did quite a few translations and quite some coding, so I know both sides but I am a firm believer of strictly separating translations and code/logic. I’m not saying translators are not able to handle it, but they might not be willing to. It’s already hard enough to find volunteer translators for your projects anyways (been there, tried that …). I don’t mind and also I did some translations last year, but there are translators who never wrote any code. They might be scared away from having to deal with such complex strings full of logic.
