After years of being swayed by that kind of thing the stock response is now "Go with them, so, and when they fuck it up our rates to fix it will be the same as before"

@davey_cakes@mastodon.ie @TimWardCam@c.im @jackscottau@aus.social sorry, the only way my rates will be the same is if I'm allowed to throw the half-price code overboard and start from scratch. *Fixing* half-price code is more expensive, due to alcohol and hair-dye expenses...

@davey_cakes@mastodon.ie @jackscottau@aus.social For so much of my career as a quantitative psychologist/statistician/consultant, I would have charged far fewer hours if the researchers had brought me in at the proposal stage. Different field, same principle.
