I see people saying that LLMs being good at programming busywork means we won’t optimize to fix boilerplate. The problem is that while there are some really bad APIs, most of the time it’s agonizingly difficult to find more expressive ways to program compared to current general purpose languages. No one is coming up with something that will make you say “god I can’t believe how slow it was back when I wrote Python.”
