DEMON DAUGHTER by Lois McMaster Bujold -- Oh my heart! I was intrigued by the title, & I wasn't let down. I always enjoy when parts are told from Nikys's perspective. Here I got both that & the perspective of the new character in this story, who happens to be a 6-yo girl. I have no real maternal instincts to speak of, but this story still managed to warm the cockles of my cold heart. And any story that features Blessed Iroki, even briefly, is a winner in my book. -- 4.5 stars

It belatedly occurs to me (because the song just came on) that "Demon Daughters" is a song from my favourite(?) Phantom Planet album. THAT's why the name seemed so familiar the whole time!
