@kinderstampfer@mstdn.social The deskilling from "AI" and unmaintainability of slop will come calling sooner or later. Possibly considerably sooner than either unaffordability of "AI" or the "AI" companies finally going bankrupt (which is currently averted primarily by market-irrational conspiracies (you can't normally fail to make a profit while wasting billions per year and not have your creditors ask wtf)). Those companies will have to hire in a desperate hurry upon realizing their skeleton-crew staff no longer has the skills to actually maintain anything nor even review the "AI" output. They might go bankrupt anyway, but their replacements will know better. tl;dr long term yes, but it'll hurt in the short term
