@RhinosWorryMe@climatejustice.social @scogings@mastodon.world Thank you so much for the advice We are lucky that here in Uganda it is currently the rainy season, so water is not a big problem now.
But We still wanted to ask: during the dry season, if we don’t have enough water, does that mean we might lose our potatoes? Or are there other methods we can use, like mulching, to help keep moisture in the soil?

@econetwork@mas.to @scogings@mastodon.world Definitely mulching and heaping up the soil around them as much as you can. This should also help to keep them cool - they don't like the soil to be too hot. If you could add shade, you might find that helpful in the dry season? It should reduce temperature and water loss. Just a guess! Maybe try it in one area and see how successful it is? I do know that they can grow quite well in shady conditions here in the UK.
