Of course, NAIT cancelled the only court reporting program in English Canada last year. Might explain a "shortage".

@anyGould@kind.social If there are humans trained to do the work correctly, you can't shove some GenAI bullshit that will get any accented speech or uncommon name wrong and "transcribe" garbage instead, for which you can charge MORE than you'd pay the humans, plus getting lots of data--which would have legal implications if humans shared it, but hey, a GenAI application can't be sued for breaching confidentiality, etc.
