@anyGould@kind.social If there are humans trained to do the work correctly, you can't shove some GenAI bullshit that will get any accented speech or uncommon name wrong and "transcribe" garbage instead, for which you can charge MORE than you'd pay the humans, plus getting lots of data--which would have legal implications if humans shared it, but hey, a GenAI application can't be sued for breaching confidentiality, etc.

@azteclady@kind.social Sounds like they're not even doing that - they're just going to take the audio recording (assuming it exists) and leave it there. Gee, sure hope the gov't keeps all those machines in 100% working order!
