Hence the metastasizing load of time and aggravation every ordinary working person must cope with for every post-purchase customer service interaction, every effing day. We're trapped in a cycle of purchasing affordable stuff (cheap crap) to make our busy lives tolerable, and then spending our spare time trying to straighten out the bills, instead of rioting - or even a serious boycott. One problem is, percentage-wise, it seems like more of us are a lot more materially "comfortable" than previous rioting generations, and we're too stressed to think about endangering the comfort we're captured by.
