@chiply@fosstodon.org Element of a sequence from the same sequence (here the you-get-what-I-mean alist elements). Whereas the class (and derived application-frame class) I wrote complete the first, second third separately, a little bit more like the minibuffer experience.
McCLIM interactors aggressively complete when you press space/enter phrases using the above, smartly ("only results of this type") but not textually fuzzily.

@chiply@fosstodon.org 4/3 though to your question, on the pane (stream) side of things, there is basically the extended stream family https://www.lispworks.com/documentation/lw80/clim/clim-ch10-3.htm though aside from the default interactor-pane, accepting-values-pane s are this whole big topic. The interaction is in general not really like a minibuffer. For example, depending on what you are trying to accept you might get a radio-button or checkbox accepting-values-pane (which might pop out a new window or already have a plane in your frame).
