(and they *should* be teaching that, because for any given year in that span, you can't understand what was technically possible (and what wasn't) unless you understand Moore's law and the state-of-the-art of that year.)

Like... no, in 1978, that kind of digital editing wasn't *unlikely*; it was, without question, **absolutely impossible**. And it was made possible around 15-ish years later only because of _exponential_ shrinkage of semiconductors over that span. So like... in order to properly teach this part of history, they probably need a little help from the math department to make sure they're doing it right.
