I do think you're underestimating the usefulness of documentation (or even tests) for this sort of thing, and especially the utter lack of any, across basically the whole software development field. Sure, nobody would have read that, because nobody would be used to something like documentation about bugs a project has fixed even existing in any form but a commit history

@laund@wetdry.world @tragivictoria@mastodon.catgirl.cloud That's literally what I just said. The documentation would have been useful but even if it existed I doubt that anyone would have read it. Also I'd count tests as a kind of documentation too in this regard :)
