@lapis@elekk.xyz I made a SaaS platform that makes doing ads of this scale feasible / financially viable, which is used by the biggest shows and advertisers. It is now owned by Amazon, where it is in the ads organization, and they’ve gone rather extreme with the number of ads.
Before this, you’d have like one or two ads (Serial season 1 is an example) because managing them was so tedious.
Coincidentally a very large % market share of true crime shows is hosted on the platform I built.

@lapis@elekk.xyz like right now they’re trying to ship the ability to repeat the exact same ad more than once in a show. I never anticipated we would get to this level of extremism with the number of ads

That's fascinating! thank you for explaining :blobpurpleheart: If it's any consolation a lot of shows are moving away from ads because the market is too oversaturated. Also fwiw: while I dislike ads in podcasts, I don't you know, have any resentment for you creating this. People need money in this world, sadly.
