So my work has a TV screen and the boss insists we keep it running with nature videos (sound off, thankfully). Today it was showing tree kangaroos (not native to this continent, to be sure), and some kids walked in and immediately and loudly dismissed it as "AI". This definitely brought home how much harm AI is doing in undermining everyone's sense of reality, that even children refuse to believe in the existence of an animal they haven't held in person. I suppose in some ways extreme skepticism may be a safer response, but it also tends towards erasing the concept of diversity.
