@efi@chitter.xyz @runevision@mastodon.gamedev.place grass and forests are usually mutually exclusive because the grass doesn't get enough light. prairies end abruptly at the forest line. undergrowth in my region tends to be plants like ferns and poison ivy and nettles

@efi@chitter.xyz @runevision@mastodon.gamedev.place also I've seen pine forests where the ground is just pine needles over more or less bare earth. I'm guessing the perimeter is usually more crowded though

@aeva@mastodon.gamedev.place @efi@chitter.xyz Yeah in the forests in the video there’s only a few scattered clumps of grass here and there (which checks out with some of the IRL forests I’ve been in). The green stuff in the ground texture inside the forests is meant to be moss.
