That "How Mastodon Are You? Tick all that apply"-type poll has got tme thinking, because the only two things I ticked out of about 20 were "Flower posts" and "Mental health posts". But in case I sound ike that one old priest in the feral priest's hospital in Father Ted quavering "I really shouldn't be here", the "mental health posts" thing is actually the entire reason I'm here. I can't handle the design patterns and excessive stimulation on other social media and I also detest the lack of privacy. I just can't be properly mad anywhere that doesn't have the facility to lock posts, and I'm severely unimpressed by the absence of this facility elsewhere. I'm so glad this instance exists as well because I couldn't survive anywhere near the mainstream of Mastodon. I tried that and it made me go as bonkers as Bluesky and Twitter Anyway in honour of my pathetic score in the Poll of Belonging I am now considering posting ONLY about flowers and madness. Just making this account all botany and bad heads all the time, like a socia media version of the Clark Ashton Smith story "The Seed From The Sepulchre". You HAVE read that story, haven't you? Please say that you have, it's so good. Don't ever get into a canoe with anyone without reading it first
