Just been #driving through a small town in Sussex that I visited regularly up to about twenty years ago. It was much more difficult to go through this time, much more waiting for cars coming the other way. The roads haven't changed (apart from the potholes), the cars are wider. it makes a big difference.

@robparsons@mastodon.social I cannot imagine what Cornish seaside villages are now like in August ... even decades ago they could be jammed solid for tens of minutes as people tried to drive through gaps one inch wider than their cars. (We're much more likely to be there in January than August.)
