The Red Ball at the corner of Front and Cooper Streets in #SantaCruz is getting a makeover. This sculpture reflects the logo of the Museum of Art and History, and been the same shade of red since it was installed. At first, I was kind of offended by the paint job. I talked to the artists, who told me it was for the World Cup, and I thought, “meh, corporate branding.” He then said, “I’ve seen this sculpture my whole life and I can’t believe I’m getting to paint it,” so I say “go for it!”
