@Teri_Kanefield@mastodon.social Although the Swiss were probably close enough culturally to be acceptable. It's really interesting that the traditional American Christmas is basically the traditional German Christmas, and having been born and raised in the UK with an American mother, plus being married to someone who is half German, I know there's a big difference. I wonder how the Anglo-Saxon Christmas gave way to the German one over time? There's an essay there (surely already written)...
