Base oil and grease is in supply. What is gone are additives. Speciality chems that basically makes an entire years global supply at one spot.

it does strike me as odd as majority of our refineries that we do have are optimised to process sour crude rather htant he sweet crude we produce domestically, meaning we literally import almost all the oil we turn into domestic products and export our nationally produced oil.

Interesting in that I am one of those suckers that bought my car's service package up front. It won't cost me anything to get my oil or transmission fluid changed. Sucks for the dealer though.
