it does strike me as odd as majority of our refineries that we do have are optimised to process sour crude rather htant he sweet crude we produce domestically, meaning we literally import almost all the oil we turn into domestic products and export our nationally produced oil.

so we literally cannot even have energy self sufficiency like they said cuz despite producing oil we can't process it in quantities to match our needs because we have an assbackwards system of importing to refine other oils then selling our local brew.
