I'm assuming that's Kerbal Space Program. I think that's a really cool game, I played it a bit when there wasn't as much to do, but it was intimidating even then.

There's absolutely a steep learning curve to it. It took like 600 hours for me to make it to the Mun and back without mods. With career mode it does get a bit easier because the missions force you to learn bits of it at a time. But a lot of that time was the game running in real time waiting for a maneuver while I worked.
