@avidrissman@mas.to @julienw@pouet.chapril.org @gruber@mastodon.social Chrome and Edge are the only browsers on macOS that add a persistent background updater under System Settings -> General -> App Background Activity.
Chrome also has the distinction of still bundling the infamous Keystone binaries.
Not a good Mac platform citizen.

Given that we’re an app that handles data from the internet, we need to stay up-to-date for security’s sake. But Chrome hasn’t used Keystone in quite a while.
