Warning: this is me as a trans masc and I say nothing about trans fems experience and am not saying they were socialized male If not “socialized female” what is a good term to say that you were interacted with, raised as, seen as a female through your formative years. Now I never met gender expectations and rejected gender norms. Yet being seen as a female impacted and impacts me. Being met with misogyny all those years impacted and impacts me. Being cat called and having to be careful at night and when alone impacted/s me. Being treated certain ways and have certain expectations because you were seen as female. To me it is not dependent on if you conformed to them or not, that is the way I was expected. Certain things stuck unbeknownst to me and are still in my mannerisms, behavior, speech. Now I’m not using the term as the phobes were. That I am irreparably a woman because I was socialized female. So maybe it is just lack of a better term that many trans mascs use the term. I am 100% a man but because I was seen as female for 27 years I was treated certain ways, had certain expectations, had to be careful, met with misogyny, etc.
