Weird networking thing I hope someone can answer: we pay for a static IPv4 from our ISP. Last night the gateway (Amazon eero) did an update and rebooted. Since then, our IP address as reported by IP detection sites was no longer the same (149.x.x.x vs 88.x.x.x). However, the reported WAN IP address by the gateway itself remains as 149.x.x.x, and it is set specifically to use that IP address as a static IP.
How is this possible? 88.x.x.x isn't a CGNAT range so it isn't that. What could be going on here for the gateway to report a different IP than what is actually being used?
