@DanMorgan@vmst.io I think it really is the OS. Cooperative multitasking works well and the Toolbox was a joy to program. I used to release software that got somewhat popular. The community was friendly. It's not just the feeling. I felt more empowered as a programmer up through System 6. I even really enjoyed hacking on PalmOS given how much of a clone of the Mac it was. I love Unix - don't get me wrong! But I also loved the Mac, and my SE the most.
