I think, people love that it's centralized.
98 % of my former Twitter folks (many of them tried Mastodon) just wanted a new place to stay and connect.
They didn't understand why they at first should disperse and then without a global user search have trouble finding each other.

@nobilor@hessen.social @sesivany@floss.social Mastodon has improved both technologically and socially since the 2022 twitter migration. Maybe suggest they give it another try. Bluesky is simple, but it is really just another corporate surveillance capitalist platform. They may not think this is important to them, but it really should be.
