“google Chrome silently installs a 4GB model, no consent…” My friend, you consented to install chrome. (I have not.) Do you expect them to run every fucking byte past you for approval? It’s called: adding features to software. There are other web browsers if you don’t like the features. You don’t initiate the complaint as “I installed this software and now it updated itself.”
