The time bomb language is often used by journalists during the pendency of the legislative change and the end of the next tax year. That said, this was written in Dec of 2025 so I think anyone it impacted would have known by then.

@andrew@esq.social @j4ck@iosdev.space @atpfm@mastodon.social @siracusa@mastodon.social I mean, I started in the tax Field in 2019, and this issue has been more or less constantly under discussion for the entire time I've been a tax professional, so I certainly took with a grain of salt the idea that this was some sort of secret or hidden provision. I think it quoted a hedge fund tax manager saying that they were unaware of this, and, well, that person is incompetent and should not have their job :-)
