@slomo@toot.cat Obvious (but cop out) answer is modifications between threads that are loaded with a relaxed memory ordering and no barriers in between

@slomo@toot.cat I think most other operations have a defined ordering, or at the very least prevent you from peeking at the internal state while it’s running
