I swear there is someone at Apple who thinks their job is to find every surface in the OS that is currently empty (and some that were being used!) and splat the new Siri AI logo there. It’s infested everything whether it makes sense or not and this only increases with every beta

You can learn a lot about advanced packaging techniques by watching YouTube Shorts with obnoxious background music apparently

My sister is applying for internships and just showed me an application form that asked her where she went to high school and made her list her past employers by selecting from a drop-down list (I will let you guess what options were there besides “Other – Technology Company”)

LEGO “for adults” is just so depressing to me because they’re always like several hundred dollars and horrible looking renditions of, like, mega Pikachu with super custom parts that you build once and never touch again

I think it is very good that Claude Code just passes slash commands to the model directly. Definitely nothing wrong with telling Opus that I used /context. It certainly won’t bring up that it’s close to compacting every response as an excuse to avoid doing work…

Slides: https://github.com/saagarjha/Presentations/tree/main/CocoaHeads%20%2B%20SLUG%20June%202026. But, also, a GitHub repo for a new project fo mine: https://github.com/saagarjha/DeviceSupport. Think unxip but for “copying shared cache symbols”. It is currently slop as a proof of concept so I could demo it but I plan to clean it up soon https://federated.saagarjha.com/notice/B7LCZIh1mzdj3AllNg

I keep hearing about sufficiently smart compilers but have we considered working on getting rid of sufficiently dumb compilers

Tool use? Ah, that’s a common misconception. It’s not named for what the agents are calling but rather refers to the guys who are using the AI

Yeah so imagine that someone suddenly became very rich and got a hot new side piece and so their crazy vindictive ex (who everyone warned them to avoid in the first place) is now airing a bunch of dirty laundry during the divorce. Except it’s somehow about computers

My hot take is that if you spend an appreciable amount of time posting about your CLAUDE.md or subagents strategy you are just LARPing as doing real work, in much the same way guys that talk about their vim config are rarely doing anything useful

I don’t know about you but if my AI compiler got 30 TFLOPs on a 4096x4096x4096 matrix multiply I might hesitate to say it “rivals Triton’s extensively optimized stack”

If you’re an developer for Apple’s platforms and were wondering where you rank in their list of priorities consider that they were apparently capable of writing docs and adding meaningful Xcode integrations all this time but they decided to do it to help AI models instead of you

Not to sound like a thought leader and all but I was reviewing a bunch of hackathon projects and the fact that everyone is slopping them out now (code, frontend, slides, literally everything honestly) really highlights how ideas limited people are

When DALL-E came out and was a novelty I remember people using it as an artistic style. Is anyone still doing that? Rather than focusing on making realistic content, using video models for dream sequences, text hallucinations for a psychosis-like effect, body horror, etc.

My new hobby is going to Amazon and buying random Bluetooth junk that requires signing up for an account; then, handing the app to an LLM to oneshot its protocol to use it locally Anyway if you have a Wyze Scale S I made the only app you'll ever need: https://github.com/saagarjha/Unwyze

This is your reminder that having SIP turned off allows trivial escalation to root and disabling part of SIP is broadly equivalent, security wise, to disabling the whole thing
