@garak@woof.group Nice, I have the Extra Long 5 string variant of them on my 35" Schecter neck through & string through bass, sound quite good (though with health issues I haven't been playing that bass that much, I've been using my Ibanez Mikro at a much lighter and easier to handle 28.6" scale. It's a little harder to find strings for and I haven't researched what DR Strings may work with it).
I used to have a set on my early 80s Matsumoku PJ as well but switched it to La Bella Super Polished to try them and have been happy with them.
I've also debated trying the Black Beauties from DR as well on one of my basses, but most are kind of set on what strings they seem to get along well with, so not sure what would get them currently. That's a good reason for a new bass, right? ;)

@daevien@gts.daevien.com Always a good reason for a new instrument 😉 Most DR models have a 37.75” length, so they should fit. They recommend adding a severe right angle bend with pliers if you’re cutting outside the flattened area though. I typically play flats, my goto are Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats. My goto rounds are DR Nickel Lo-Riders, but these Hi-Beams are going on a slap machine J bass on steroids. I like the SS Lo-Riders too. Never used the LBSP or DRBB but I hear good things! I like La Bella DTF
