@daevien@gts.daevien.com Always a good reason for a new instrument 😉 Most DR models have a 37.75” length, so they should fit. They recommend adding a severe right angle bend with pliers if you’re cutting outside the flattened area though. I typically play flats, my goto are Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats. My goto rounds are DR Nickel Lo-Riders, but these Hi-Beams are going on a slap machine J bass on steroids. I like the SS Lo-Riders too. Never used the LBSP or DRBB but I hear good things! I like La Bella DTF

@garak@woof.group Yeah, the strings fit fine on the Schecter, just need the extra long for the 35" scale plus string through body length. I've got TI flats on one Ibanez Mikro. The string wind is not optimal since they are so short (28.6") and strings are really for 30". But it does work and still has some silk on the tuners. Still deciding on the other Mikro for strings, but I also have to redo the wiring and the strings that came on it were decent rounds of some kind, not really sure so will work for now. I've got LaBella 760FL on a fretless and another set that was on a 1997 Ibanez SR800 but it's got LaBella Black Nylon 750N currently for something different. Also have 760FL-S on a Squier Bronco that I got first but just didn't click so much with me, girlfriend will tinker around some with that and try to learn how to play. I've got a couple other basses with SIT Foundations on them, they are decent roundwounds as well. Debated trying the Lo Riders and the Pure Blues as well as the Legend (flats) but don't hear as much about them so will have to wait til I have some money to spend on experiments again. The Super Polished are a neat in between of rounds & flats, took a little bit to kind of get fingers and ears in sync with how they felt vs sound. They seem to last quite well, Ian Martin Allison had or maybe still has a set on one of his basses for quite a while even with touring and what not. I may put another set of the regular SP on my highly modded & defretted Harley Benton PB20, be a different sound from the flats on the other fretless. His custom gauge SP is interesting but I found the regular ones cheap one time and my first set were before his were out.
