In light of Instructure paying ransom to ShinyHunters, I am wondering about the risk assessment. Is the ransom less than they (their insurance) would pay in litigation to exposed universities and schools? It certainly doesn't prevent a lawsuit so perhaps it's intended as mitigation. I almost feel like FOIA'ing our license to see what recourse a hosted client has. Our lawyers would want to address that next go round. https://www.instructure.com/incident_update #EdTech
