@vfrmedia@social.tchncs.de @ruari@velocipederider.com I haven't worked out (tbh I haven't tried) how to block ads whilst streaming on the telly. I mute the sound whilst the ads are on - it's astonishing how many ads there are where you can't work out what is being advertised with the sound off! - it's almost as if the advertisers don't realise that people do this!

@vfrmedia@social.tchncs.de @ruari@velocipederider.com OK OK, so I do know that on some channels you can get rid of ads by paying, and I've read that YouTube in particular deliberately tries to show you completely crap irrelevant uninteresting ads so that you'll pay to get rid of them, because they make more money that way.
