@sikkdays@ourempty.pub I do have pretty steady hands for soldering but occasionally I'm shaky. On those days I can't solder the small stuff.
I'm not sure tape would be enough to protect the cool aluminum enclosure.
A milling machine would be ideal. Or even a drill press where I could lock a grinding wheel at a certain height and gently push the pot into the wheel to grind away the nubby.

@Ricardus@mastodon.sdf.org I cannot remember if there is a drill press mount for the Dremel. I know there are some 3D models to print one. I wish I could help more. Hopefully, someone has a good idea. I have been looking for a small drill press, myself. I would like one for the jewelry and worry stone creations that I haveen dabbling in.
