@neatchee@urusai.social Same re: how I feel about Cory and The Guardian. Same as in my other major issue with genAI in the context of productivity and worker aid, whether it is capable of making less than 7 fingers or not. (Side issues re: theft, environmental damage, non consensual data harvesting; and people using genAI for personal conversations are their own side issues)

@neatchee@urusai.social for the radiology example, there's also the issue of where the training came from. I have less issues if it's from high quality consultant level radiologist training, but we all know they went to the lowest bidding. What I will say next will not have screencap or receipt, so it's up to you if you want to believe me. A few years ago when ~~~genAI is the future ~~~ fad first started, on WeChat there was an article about how genAI is so good because it gives unskilled labourers who never completed high school a job. Their jobs include training genAI into recognising pedestrians on crossing, dogs, tumours on radiological films, birds vs planes etc. And I was like what what, wrote a comment on this is dangerous, and the writer realised it made genAI look dangerous so they changed the paragraph. Now there are lots of paid shills on WeChat, they are never held the same standard as actual journalism. If the whole thing is made up it wouldn't surprise me. It also wouldn't surprise me if the training went to the lowest bidder and this truly happened, and this is the dataset we have. I can assure you most AIBros have zero idea on what radiology even is. I'd be amazed if some can tell the difference between a radiologist with a radiographer.
