I asked Claude to list 7 ways I should transform my company using AI. It did so enthusiastically. Then I asked to link to research supporting its suggestions. It did, with caveats that most studies show a productivity boost of <40% as a best case scenario, sometimes a 20% reduction, that those boosts tend to decay over six months due to reduced maintainability, and there are no studies showing impact on bottom line. It felt like I was in the Beckham Be Honest meme.
