@debcha@saturation.social And in the German language the word "Handy" (which means cellphone) I guess someone was like "take new invention will get in handy" and then it got shortened to "Handy" by someone that didn't speak English (that well) but kept hearing that word over and over again in that context and assumed it was what this thing is called. So it stuck Looking up the origin of words is kinda interesting and I do it from time to time. However most of the time the WHY isn't really discoverable for me.
