I don’t like the change LLM brings to the industry, to work in general. Not sure if that makes me a grumpy old man, but if it does, so be it.
Plenty of people are excited about the possibilities, but the lack of control we humans have, the lack of quality and of *craft* depress me.

I have always felt that IT was *not enough* engineering – not reliable, not exact enough like engineering buildings or bridges – and now the use of LLMs makes it even less so. Is it so wrong to want our software, our writing, drawing, painting to be crafted by humans rather than generated by unfeeling machines?
