@amsomniac@mastodon.mit.edu @pence@scholar.social No, it was an older video; no JTAG involved. Mine died like 2 years ago WHILE I WAS ON VACATION WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO GRAB ONE OF MY BACKUP PHONES. I'm still a little salty.. (Actually, now that my memory is jogged - in the video they didn't replace the mmc, it just reseated it because apparently the solder around the pins cracks due to regular overheating and that's the root cause of the issue. So they suck up the old solder and reflux & resolder.)
