More railway curiosities in Denmark: The town of Nykøbing on the island of Mors in the northwest of Jutland had a railway station but no railway line. Trains were brought to the station by way of a railway ferry.

@partim@social.tchncs.de on Google Maps, the only remaining traces I found https://www.google.com/maps/place/7900+Nykøbing+Mors,+Danemark/@56.7934777,8.8623855,3a,72.8y,78.77h,83.19t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sPNcvrHOY3YK_hyPhqbzwBQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D6.810000000000002%26panoid%3DPNcvrHOY3YK_hyPhqbzwBQ%26yaw%3D78.77!7i13312!8i6656!4m7!3m6!1s0x46497786061d0e1f:0x789bc9d8c80b727c!8m2!3d56.7955597!4d8.8574417!10e5!16s%2Fm%2F02qtdqd

@partim@social.tchncs.de A companion curiosty from Japan: National Route 350 spans Sado Island, with car ferries carrying traffic to and from the island in both directions. (It may be common elsewhere, but it was new to me.)

@partim@social.tchncs.de Now this would make an interesting model rail layout to build! :blobcataww:
