Took a ride around the Aichi reservoir for some light cardio this morning. The water level is pretty low as you can see. Thundershowers are nice and all, but we could really use a typhoon or two. #bikeTooter #Japan

Seeking matcha advice. I've pretty well shifted from espresso to strong black tea as morning brew, and I'd like to give matcha a try. For those who know, what paraphernalia and procedures are involved, not for the ceremony, but for ordinary consumption as a civilian? #matcha #Japan

Every time I am pointed at some well-heeled media star's hysterical rant about Woke This or Woke That, my first thought is of George Carlin's calm observation that they call it the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.

It's time the Trump Administration abandon its self-imposed restraint and explore fresh options to break the stalemate over the Strait of Hormuz. Available measures are burnings in effigy, stabbing of pins into voodoo dolls, coordinated pulpit condemnations, particularly nasty gossip, emphatic stamping of feet and, as a measure held in reserve, hamburgers with special sauce hurled at the wall with overwhelming force. #USpol #humor

Biking to Sakushima again today, I met a Kuroneko van at a blind corner near the ferry terminal that I approached too quickly. Stopped just fine, but I locked the back wheel and blew out a tire. I laughed and waved the all-clear to the driver, who seemed utterly disinterested and trundled on his way. A sew-up puncture sounds like a shot, and a couple came out of their house to see what was up. Had a nice chat with the husband while setting a spare, and made the ferry on time! #Japan #bikeTooter
