Mass shooters in the US are born from Libertarianism. The idea that you alone are the only one who is right and that you must impose your will on all those bad people through the barrel of a gun. Support for recall elections is the same. The idea that all those stupid voters fucked us by voting wrong so we must force a new election until I get what I want out of it. YIMBYism is the same. This is the idea that only the market rate housing developers should have any say about what gets built and that anyone who wants to exert influence over development is a NIMBY. The Abundance agenda is the same. It is a rejection of society. Disbelief that anyone else but you has a valid perspective. Distrust of law, institutions, governance, everything. This is why Fascism rose so quickly.
