@johanna@lgbtqia.space I'd be curious to read it myself. I'm also curious about the folk that fall through the cracks. The straight trans women that didn't experience gay culture before they transitioned. Even though I'm not straight, my sexuality is complicated, and for a long time, I thought I was, and I know that I felt so very different to the other straight trans women, because they had all had experiences with queer culture and community long before they transitioned, and for many of them, they were quite happy to leave that behind. And here I was, finding joy and connection for the first time in my life, celebrating connection to a community I'd never experienced before.
My last boyfriend was a straight trans man, and he was like that. He'd been in and around lesbian and queer spaces his whole adult life, but they never "fit", so once he transitioned, he felt like they were no longer his spaces and was happy to leave. It made for a real challenge, because I felt like I wanted exactly what he was trying to escape from
